FIXED CERAMIC BRIDGES

Fixed prosthesis with multiple teeth

Ponte fixa sobre dente

Bridges are used to restore absences of teeth between natural teeth or between dental implants. They are supported by adjacent teeth with a crown, or they can be adhered in the adjacent tooth with a ceramic wing (Maryland bridges), with the modern adhesive techniques. Since fixed bridges involve wear off adjacent teeth and with the development of treatments with dental implants, fixed bridges are increasingly an option with more specific indications, serving to treat the absence of teeth in a fixed manner when for some reason implants are not indicated to be placed.

In the case of Maryland bridges, the evolution of ceramics and techniques of dental adhesion are increasingly a minimally invasive option, since they avoid the adjacent tooth wear and with great predictability and aesthetics.
